When the luxury Pullman Deira City Centre Hotel in Dubai embarked on a renovation project, Muraspec’s Digital team made sure that only the best would do. LW Design were tasked by hotel owners Majid Al Futtaim Properties with creating a striking interior and chose a clean, contemporary design by Spain based artist Michael Banks, renowned for his work with Architects and Interior Designers globally in the Hospitality, Corporate and Healthcare sectors.
Entitled ‘Luna Lena’ (Full Moon), the photo images were created using only the light of the moon to produce striking results in a monochrome palette. However, the final design needed to tie in with the green and purple tones of the corridor carpet without losing the essence of the original artwork; easier said than done. This is where Muraspec’s Digital Design team stepped in to help, taking care of re-separating and re-colouring the images, before digitally printing the final design onto a hard wearing vinyl wallcovering – and Michael is delighted with the result:
“The Digital team at Muraspec were incredibly professional, and worked hard to achieve the subtle tones wanted by the designer; creating and sending regular samples out to Dubai and liaising with the client until the job was right. There was a clear desire on Muraspec’s behalf to produce a prefect project – which they did.”
Muraspec Digital Manager John Langfield says: “It’s very satisfying to hear such positive comments. We’re proud of the part we played in realising the scheme. Over 500 metres of perfectly colour matched product provided and not a single reprint!” Muraspec has a dedicated Digital Team based at our design and manufacturing facility in Kent.
