Anita Rosato Interior Design (ARID) employed Muraspec as the wallcoverings provider of choice for their revamp of London Marriott Hotel Maida Vale, located in the heart of North West London.
The challenge at ARID was to merge Marriott and local owners’ visions to create relaxing yet functional guestrooms, for business and leisure travellers alike. The designers were also tasked with incorporating local culture, whilst adopting a distinctive and fun atmosphere; Anita Rosato delivered in spades.
ARID, fittingly, draws inspiration from that famous ‘zebra crossing’ photo that most notably defined London as the global for modern artistic expression. Immersed with subtle references to Swinging London – from Vespas to Black Cabs and statement art pieces - the Maida Valeconcept translates local history into the modern era for a timelessness befitting of the Marriott brand.
Bespoke pieces, together with a refined palette, further add to the uniqueness of these guestrooms.

The theme and inspiration throughout the guest-rooms has remained faithful to the 60's theme and more importantly this one image. This photograph inspires the colour scheme of black, white and blush and has been translated into today's modern era as a very contemporary and elegant scheme.
Designers found one such perfect solution in bespoke wallcoverings from Muraspec. A leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of decorative solutions for the hospitality industry, Muraspec reinvented some of their most elegant designs with colourways created exclusively for Maida Vale.
ARID specified a sleek grey Osaka, for example, for key suite areas to harmonise and showcase various ornate elements of their holistic vision.
For the guestrooms, the rich textures of Belmont and Salene were utilised to add dimension to the walls. These wallcoverings were reimagined with a darker grey tone and a blush-pink colourway, respectively, and complement the ‘black, white and blush’ palette proposed by the ARID team.
